Kathmandu. South Korean technology company Samsung has started developing a 17-inch foldable tablet. It is said that this device, which is limited to an 8-inch size when folded, expands to a 17-inch display when opened.

According to the technology related website GSM Arena, a source had previously informed that a 17-inch foldable tablet is being developed towards the end of August. The name of the company was not made public at that time. In the latest update, it is mentioned that the device is being developed by Samsung.

According to the information received, the tablet will be 8 inches when closed and its display will expand up to 17 inches when opened. However, more information about the technical features of the device has not been released.

It is not yet clear what the folding design of the tablet will be. It is said that there are two possibilities of folding the same 17-inch screen or having a separate 8-inch screen on the outside along with the 17-inch internal display.

Samsung Display has previously presented samples of large foldable screens at various technology exhibitions. But the mobile division of the company has not yet brought this type of device to the market commercially.

Earlier in 2023, a foldable device named 'Galaxy Z Tab' was being discussed, but it was not made public as a commercial product.

The news regarding this development of Samsung has been published while the discussion of new products in the market of foldable devices is increasing. However, the company has not given any information about the official announcement of the 17-inch foldable tablet, the release date or the time it will be available in the market.ANI
