Vidura A spice and turmeric grinding machine has been handed over to Pratima Mizar, a flood victim of Simchaur, Vidur Municipality-4, Nuwakot, with the aim of helping her in earning a living.

Sijan Ghimire, a member of Nepal Agricultural Machinery Business Association (NAMIA) and owner of Kanyadevi Machinery Pvt Ltd, Nuwakot, has provided the machine to Mizar with full subsidy.

33-year-old Mizar was previously running a domestic turmeric and spice processing business. However, she was deprived of employment and source of income when her factory was completely washed away by the recent devastating floods.

Mizar, who was taking care of the livelihood of a five-member family, was facing financial difficulties in re-operating the damaged business due to the flood.

Ghimire has provided free machines to Mizar as part of its social responsibility with the aim of supporting the economic recovery and rehabilitation of the flood victims.

After receiving the machine, it is expected that Mizar will be able to start a home business again to raise a source of income and make the family's livelihood easier.

The local residents and affected families have expressed their gratitude to Ghimire and the Nepal Agricultural Machinery Traders Association for this help to make the flood-affected families self-reliant.
