Kathmandu. Google has introduced a new feature in its AI app Gemini that allows you to view and edit files within the chat. With this, users can make necessary changes within Gemini without downloading the file or exporting it to other apps.
According to technology website GSM Arena, this feature expands Gemini's file creation capabilities. Earlier in April last year, Google introduced the facility to create files like Google Docs, Google Sheets, PDF and Markdown.
With the new feature, users can edit supported files such as documents, PDFs, presentation materials, spreadsheets, codes, etc. without leaving the Gemini app. The content can be changed by opening the file in full screen.
Similarly, it is possible to select a certain part of the file and ask questions about it, to modify the text or visual content and to give additional instructions during the editing process. It is expected that this will make it easier to improve the content prepared by AI.
However, not all file editing features are available on mobile. PDF viewing and editing facility is available in both web and mobile versions. According to GSM Arena, the facility to edit Google Docs, Google Sheets, Slides, Markdown, TXT and code files is currently only available in the web version.
According to Google, the new feature has been made available to all users using Gemini. This feature can be used in all languages available in the Gemini app. The new feature has made it possible to do everything from content creation to editing in one chat. This is expected to reduce the need for users to frequently switch between Gemini and other editing tools.ANI
